Session call
Creative destinations in a changing world
We ask for proposals for sessions by the 15th of February in the form of a 250
words abstract with title,
to be sent to either Edward (edward@unak.is) or Gunnar (gtj@hi.is)
The conference deals with tourism development in the aftermath of the 2008
economic downturn.
Tourism is one of the motors that would drive future growth under the terms of
the service and experience economy.
Tourism has to a great extent developed into particular niches, catering to
defined and often
exclusive markets with high income and demand for highly specialized
services.
Will the dynamics of a changing world force tourism unto a different course of
development?
How can tourism education, image and marketing strategies and public policies
sustain the development of tourism in times of changes?
Defined themes of the conference are:
Tourism education in a new era
Images and marketing strategies
Tourism and public policy
Submissions relating the following niches of tourism to the conference main
themes are particularly welcomed:
Heritage tourism
Health and wellness tourism
Nature-based tourism
Geo-tourism
Hunting tourism
Wildlife tourism
Agritourism
Horse-based tourism
