The Icelandic Coast Guard, the Icelandic Arctic Cooperation Network, and the Icelandic Tourism Research Centre have organised two breakout sessions at the Arctic Circle Assembly 2022 called "Responding to Booming Arctic Cruise: Safety and Environmental Risks at Sea" where key stakeholders will give their views and discuss the main challenges they face and fields of collaboration in this regard.

New intern at the ITRC

For the next months, the ITRC is hosting a new intern, Hana Sáblíková, at the Akureyri office. Hana is a Ph.D. candidate in Applied and Landscape Ecology from Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. During her internship, Hana will research sustainable tourism practices in the private sector of Akureyri.
