The 13th International Conference on Responsible Tourism in Destinations (RTD) will be held 29-30 September 2017 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Call for papers is now open until 10 July.

RTD-13, which will take form of a working symposium, is an opportunity to explore strategies to ensure sustainable tourism development where “overtourism” is occurring through local practices and empowered communities. The idea is that this symposium will identify the research agenda on overtourism and we hope that research partnerships will emerge from it and means of knowledge dissemination identified.

Organisers and collaborating partners are Icelandic Tourism Research Centre, University of Iceland, Responsible Tourism Partnership, Plymouth University, Icelandic Tourism Board, University of Akureyri and Soil Conservation Service of Iceland.
