We Lead project meeting in Ireland

Last week the We Lead partners met up for a two day project meeting in Leitrim, Ireland, where our Irish partner Momentum has their offices. We Lead is an Erasmus+ project that aims to empower women advance their careers within the tourism industry and create open educational resources to equip women working in the industry, as well as educators and students, with tools to break down the barriers many women face in their work places today.

At the project meeting in Ireland, the partners discussed the next steps in the project which are to create our Open Educational Resources; Modules and Educators Guides. The We Lead project started a year ago and it's first outputs were published this autumn. The two publications are our Discovery Report that lays out all the concepts and issues the We Lead project is addressing and how they link together. It presents a conceptual framework on how the connections between leadership, gender equality, tourism and climate change can be viewed. The report is complemented by our Good Practices Compendium with nine stories from inspiring Women Leaders in Europe working within the tourism industry today.

The publications can be accessed on We Lead's website here in English, Spanish, and Icelandic:

Momentum had also planned some wonderful activities for the partners as lunch was had in the Jackalope Café at The Shed Distillery and we got a very interesting guided tour through the old Arigna coal mines. And to finish off a productive work day, the partners got to unwind in the hot tubs located at our accommodation Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway.

We want to thank Momentum for their great planning and hospitality during our stay in Leitrim!
