Tourism in the Icelandic Media

Media Survey 2016: Numer of articles vs. number of tourists

In 2016 the ITRC's conducted a pilot-study on how tourism-related issues appeared in the Icelandic online media.
This 2018 study will build on the results of content and method of the pilot study. 

The theoretical framework of the media study has its base in the Agenda Setting Theories of the Media. The survey method is a content analysis where the content groups seek to answer questions on what the Icelandic online media does tell its readers about the Icelandic tourism and also, how does it to so.

The 2018 findings are expected to be published early 2019.
