Vaðölduver: Visitor Attitudes towards the Proposed Wind Farm

In summer 2026, the Icelandic Tourism Research Centre (ITRC) coordinated data collection for a visitor survey in the Icelandic Highlands in connection with the proposed Vaðölduver wind farm. The aim of the study was to examine visitors’ attitudes towards the planned development and assess its potential impacts on their experience of the area and on tourism.

The project was commissioned by Landsvirkjun and carried out in collaboration with the Institute for Tourism Research (NIT) in Germany.
