Dr Georgette Leah Burns from Griffith University in Australia is currently being hosted by the Icelandic Tourism Research Centre at the University of Akureyri.

Here on study leave, Leah is working on a collaborative research project with researchers from the Icelandic Tourism Research Centre and Hólar University College to assess visitor interpretation in Ásbyrgi.

Key tourism stakeholders, including managers, guides, rangers and visitors are being asked about their experiences in Ásbyrgi to assess their satisfaction with the current provision of information and to plan for future delivery.

The project has ethical clearance from Griffith University and a research permit from the Vatnajökull National Park.
