Tourism 360 – A Circular Tourism Approach in Arctic Destination

The purpose of this NPA bridging project, which took place in 2022, was to explore the options and support for a new approach to tourism in the Northern Periphery and Arctic, that of ‘circular tourism’ – the creation of tourism products, goods and services without wasting limited resources.

Phase 1 of the project included a review on academic literature on the topic as well as data gathering on examples of good practice worldwide.

Phase 2 centered around engagement with end-users – tourism SMEs, DMOs and key stakeholders – in four regional case studies. This included webinars, surveys, and interviews.
